About Trooper
Trooper is living in a foster home in Spring Grove, IL, and he's ready to bring his lively spirit and cuddly side to a new family. At 12 lbs, this small male Australian Shepherd has a knack for zoomies and curling up for snuggles. Born January 23, 2017, he's a textbook Aquarius—expect a bit of independence and plenty of personality. Trooper has lived with other toy Aussies and balances his energy: respectful and slow to approach, he fits in well with calm canine friends. His favorite thing is romping in a securely fenced yard. Once he's tired, Trooper becomes a world-class cuddler. After a tough start with a breeder and then losing his home due to his owner's health, Trooper has shown he can adapt, trust, and bond closely. He's fully house trained, making clean-up simple. He walks nicely on leash and feels safest in his crate, especially when storms roll in—sometimes you’ll need to coax him out because it’s his haven. A household with a physical fence and without toddlers is best for him. Trooper has some medical considerations; details are covered in adoption counseling. He’s neutered, had a recent dental, microchipped, up to date on all vaccines, and gets monthly preventatives. Trooper is playful, affectionate, well-mannered, and will bring both fun and comfort to the right home. Click apply to start the adoption process.
