About Cami

Cami is a petite, striking black tri Toy/Mini Australian Shepherd currently being fostered in Oconomowoc, WI but available for adoption in Ringwood, IL. Born November 21, 2021, Cami weighs about 18 pounds and has lived a life that most dogs never have to endure. She came from a puppy mill, where she raised litter after litter, then lost her first real family to tragedy and has since steadily improved in foster care. Through it all, Cami shows gentle resilience and a true longing to bond with her people. Cami’s favorite things are cuddling up, receiving belly rubs, and quietly following her family from room to room. She’s gentle, sweet, and delights in affection once trust is built. Though sudden movements or loud noises still startle her, she’s working every day to conquer her nerves. She feels safest with calm, patient adults and does best with a confident dog around. Children intrigue her, but she prefers quiet over chaos. Men can still intimidate her, so a female caregiver is best. Cami is house trained, never chews, and starts each day eager to go out with her people. Continued gentle training and daily routines help Cami feel steady and secure. A securely fenced yard is essential, and she’ll need at least 1-2 hours of enrichment daily. She’s spayed, vaccinated, and on all preventatives. Cami is looking for someone ready to give patient guidance as she learns how to truly be a loved dog at last. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
