About Finn

Finn, fostered in New Buffalo, MI, is a silky soft tricolor mini Australian Shepherd who’ll reward you with hugs whenever you need them. He’s the textbook definition of a Velcro dog: happiest glued to your side and thriving in the company of a dog sibling. Finn is energetic and driven—give him a ball to chase or a new trick to master and he lights right up. Very food-motivated and eager to learn, he’s progressed through a year of daily training in obedience, nosework, and beginner agility. Expect a dog who soaks up praise and learns faster than most. Finn forms strong bonds after initial shyness, and once he trusts you, you’ll have a companion dedicated to you with all his heart. He’s sensitive from past harsh experiences, so gentle handling matters. A large fenced yard is a must—he needs room to chase, play, and practice his agility and nosework. Finn excels with people experienced with herding breeds and wants a home focused on activity and training. He does best with older children (14+) or adults and will not be comfortable in a home with young kids. He’s reliably house trained, crate trained (though not a fan), and trustworthy when alone in the house. Finn gets along easily with other dogs and cats. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and current on flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. Proof of heartworm prevention for other pets is required for adoption.
