About Steel
Steel is being fostered in St Louis, MO, and he's the kind of young dog who’s always up for the next adventure. Formerly a stray, he landed at the right house but couldn’t stay because of allergies. Now, at about 7–8 months old and roughly 35–40 lbs, Steel is settling into foster care and learning the ropes of family life. His blue merle coat and striking blue eyes get a lot of attention, but he’s so much more than good looks—he’s eager, affectionate, and deeply loyal once he connects with you. Steel's history means he starts off a bit untrained, though he’s very motivated to please. He thrives on active involvement with his people and benefits from having structure, a consistent routine, and clear guidance. He’s learning house training and manners, and will need patience as he makes that transition, but he’s already proved smart and quick to bond. Steel enjoys playtime with the other dogs in his foster home and would likely make a great addition to a household ready to steer his energy. His adopter should be ready for basic obedience training and must have a physically fenced yard. No information on how Steel does with cats or young children. He could shine in dog sports or outdoor activities. Steel is neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, and getting regular preventatives. Give him a chance and you might find the adventure companion you’ve been seeking. Start your journey together! Apply now.
