I'm Xylo, a 13-pound Shih Tzu mix with a gentle heart and a sensitive soul. I may seem a little anxious when we first meet, but once I know you're safe, I absolutely melt into your affection and love being loved on. I don't mind being picked up or held, and I'll happily soak up attention from my trusted humans. I can be playful too - it just takes me a little time to feel comfortable enough to show that silly side. I'll need regular grooming to keep my fluffy coat from getting matted, but I promise I'll look extra handsome for all those cuddles and compliments. I can be a bit alert when someone comes to the door, so you could say I take my job as a little watchdog seriously! I'm not your typical lap dog - I like my independence and enjoy doing my own thing, especially exploring both indoors and outdoors and taking in all the fresh air around me. I'm active, curious, and a little adventurous, but I'll always pop back in to check on you because my people matter to me. I'd thrive in a home that can give me long walks, plenty of outdoor access, and lots of patience while I continue building confidence. Butt scratches are definitely my love language, and once we bond, expect sweet kisses as my way of saying thank you.
