I'm Emma Rose, a 51-pound Rhodesian Ridgeback mix with a sensitive heart and a gentle soul. I can be a pretty nervous lady, and when I'm unsure, you might see me panting or shaking as I try to take it all in. New situations can feel overwhelming, and I may pace or look for a way out when I'm not sure what's going on. Being outside helps me feel a lot more at ease. I'll need a patient home that understands I might take a little time to warm up, but I promise I'm trying my best. Once I start to feel comfortable, my sweet side really begins to shine. I may even give you some gentle kisses and lean in for hugs-those are some of my favorite ways to show affection once I trust you. It's important to go slow with me and let me move at my own pace so I can build confidence and feel secure. I do need a watchful eye, as I've shown I might try to climb a fence if I'm feeling unsure, so keeping me safe will be very important. I know my name and want to connect-I just need someone kind and patient to help me get there. With time, love, and understanding, I'll become a deeply loyal and affectionate companion. My adoption fee of $225+tax covers the cost of my care and stay here at the humane society. All Pennington County residents must also pay an additional $8 licensing fee at time of adoption.
