About Charlie

Charlie is about two years old and weighs in at just eight pounds. He landed at the rescue after being left behind at a retail store, but you wouldn’t know it from his spirit—he’s energetic with a strong streak of playfulness. Expect barking, especially if he spots something exciting or unsettling. He does best in a home without shared walls where a little noise won’t be a problem. Charlie is fantastic with other small dogs and loves running laps around the yard with them. He’s also friendly with people and shows plenty of affection once he feels safe. Crate anxiety is something he struggles with, probably due to lack of positive early experiences, so he’ll be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the day to let him out regularly. He’s not house trained yet, and patience will be needed while he settles in and finds his rhythm. Charlie is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and already on monthly preventatives. He’s ready to bring some fun (and a bit of energy) into his new home. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Charlie

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Charlie’s Wire Fox Terrier and Jack Russell Terrier mix background fit best in a home with space to play and run—ideally, a house with a fenced yard. Apartment living, especially with shared walls, isn’t recommended due to his vocal tendencies.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Small terriers like Charlie thrive with regular access to a yard or safe outdoor area where they can run and burn off energy each day. Without a yard, frequent walks and active play are needed.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Charlie’s breeds are known for being friendly and playful, often doing well with respectful children. As with any energetic dog, supervision and gentle handling are important.
