About Lilli

Meet Lili! 3 years old | 8 lbs | Chihuahua mix | Female Lili is a gentle, sensitive little soul who is slowly learning that the world is a safe and loving place. This 8-pound Chihuahua mix has recently arrived in NYC and is adjusting to city life at her own pace. When Lili first arrived in her foster home, she spent her first few days quietly tucked away in her crate, taking everything in. But with patience and kindness, her sweet personality has started to shine. Once her foster mom placed her on the couch for some quiet bonding time, Lili began to blossom — rolling over to expose her tiny belly for rubs and inching closer and closer for comfort. While Lili can be nervous when someone approaches her quickly, she truly loves being near her person. She'll softly nudge her way closer during cuddle time and happily curl up beside you. At night, she sleeps peacefully in bed with her foster mom and doesn't need a potty break — she simply scoots closer as the night goes on. Lili is still building confidence in the outside world. She currently takes short daily trips down the block in her foster mom's arms for gentle exposure and is getting a little braver each day. Her future family should be patient and willing to continue helping her feel safe outside — though she would also be perfectly happy living primarily as an indoor companion. In the home, Lili is a dream. She is quiet, calm, and perfectly content lounging on a cozy blanket, napping on the couch, or following her favorite person from room to room. She doesn't bark and does well being home alone during the day. While toys haven't quite caught her interest yet, she loves soft blankets, gentle pets, and simply being near her person. She's also making great progress with house training and is learning to come when called. Mealtime is a highlight of her day — especially when her wet food comes out of the fridge! Because of her sensitive nature, Lili would thrive in a very calm, patient home with adopters who understand that shy dogs need time to build trust. A quiet household without young children would be best for her. She hasn't been formally tested with other dogs but seemed comfortable with the pup she traveled to NYC with. Lili may start out a little shy, but for the person willing to give her the time she needs, she is an incredibly special companion — a soft, loving little shadow who just wants to feel safe and adored. Vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Tested for vector-borne illnesses. Current on flea, tick, and heart worm prevention.
