Daphne is a 2 year-old, 10-pound female Chihuahua mix from Tijuana. She is a curious, playful, and cuddly pup. Daphne has adjusted very well during her time in Brooklyn. She likes to greet any dog during walks and enjoys watching humans walk by as they smile and comment on how adorable she is. She enjoys playing with the resident dog, finding comfy spots to nap, and giving her humans all the love she has. As she is highly treat motivated, she is doing well understanding "sit" and is quickly picking up on other obedience skills. During her time with her foster family, she has been working on house training going outside consistently. With continued routine and encouragement, she is making steady progress. Daphne is learning leash skills and has shown great improvement walking close to her foster family. Her forever family will simply need to continue reinforcing the good habits she's building. Daphne is a happy pup who loves to be close and to snuggle up to her people. As such, she may get a little sad when her people leave, but she continues to make progress and has been learning that her people come back. She learned quickly that her crate is her safe space and does well during the day and at night when she sleeps. Otherwise, she loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found next to them, snuggling her head into their arms during her frequent naps. Daphne is looking for a low-key or medium-active family. She loves to play but also appreciates downtime. She would do best solo or with another dog at home. Daphne would do great in a home with or without children. Vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Tested for vector-borne illnesses.
