Betito is a 1-year-old, 13.5-pound Chihuahua mix who made the journey all the way from Tijuana in search of his forever home. This tiny guy has a huge heart and is the definition of a Velcro dog — wherever you go, Betito wants to be right by your side. He's incredibly affectionate and happiest when he's curled up next to his person or following them from room to room. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow, Betito is your guy. Betito gets along well with the resident dog in his foster home and would likely enjoy a canine sibling, but he'd also be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as a solo pup. While the big city was a little scary to him at first, he's already made great progress and continues to grow more confident on his walks every day. He's mostly housetrained and adjusted quickly after a short settling-in period during his first few days in foster care. Betito hasn't had any formal training yet and doesn't know commands just yet, but he's a sweet, eager companion who will thrive with gentle guidance and consistency. He's also great on the leash when he is feeling brave enough to explore outdoors. One thing to know about Betito is that he loves his people a lot. Because of this, he can experience separation anxiety when left alone, so he's looking for a home where someone is around most of the time and willing to help him continue building confidence and independence. With patience, structure, and love, he'll continue to blossom. Betito is still figuring out the world of toys and playtime, but he's already mastered the art of being an expert cuddler.
