Meet Annelise! Annelise is a 7-month-old Border Collie / Great Pyrenees mix, though she clearly favors the Border Collie side. She currently weighs about 48 pounds, and we do not expect her to be much over 60 pounds when fully grown. Annelise is very shy and timid, but she is making steady, visible progress. She came to us with her family from a truly awful backyard breeder and had very little positive experience with people before arriving at the rescue. Despite that, she is sweet, gentle, and clearly wants to learn how to trust. She just needs time and patient guidance to get there. She will need a securely fenced yard and calm, understanding people who are willing to let her move at her own pace. She is not a dog who will thrive being pushed or rushed, but she does beautifully with quiet consistency. Annelise is good with other dogs, though she is still figuring out how to play and interact appropriately. She is currently cat-curious. She has shown no aggression toward cats, but she genuinely does not know what they are yet, so a savvy introduction would be important. She is best suited for a quiet home with children well past the screeching years. Loud, chaotic environments are not her comfort zone. For the right home, Annelise will be a deeply loyal, soft-hearted companion who bonds closely and rewards patience with trust.
