This gentle 8 year old Great Pyrenees–hound mix is Marilyn, a quiet soul who has waited a long time for the world to be kind to her. She came to us as part of a group of 15 dogs who were abandoned together. One by one, they found their homes. She is the last one still waiting. Understandably, she is shy and cautious, but everyday she takes small, brave steps forward. Once she trusts you, her sweetness is unmistakable and deeply touching. She arrived with an obvious tumor on her chest and had a mammary chain removed, and we are happy to report it was benign. She has recovered well and is ready to move on to the next chapter of her life in a calm, predictable home. Marilyn does well with cats and is fine with other dogs who respect her space and do not jump on her or overwhelm her. Loud noises and frenetic energy are scary for her, so a home with teenagers or adults only is the best fit. Young children and their sudden movements and loud noises would simply be too much for her. A securely fenced yard is a must so she can feel safe and take the world in at her own pace. Inside, she has one nonnegotiable requirement: an exceptionally soft dog bed. Comfort matters to her, and she has waited long enough to be cozy. She is also as it turns out not super fond of cold weather. Marilyn girl is not looking for adventure. She is looking for patience, kindness, and someone willing to let her bloom on her own timeline.
