About Casey
Lets make it official, apply to adopt! Casey is a 1-2 year old miniature dachshund/chihuahua mix girl who was rescued from a tough situation in Eastern Oklahoma, where she was one of 16 dogs needing urgent help before winter. She came from a challenging background—covered in fleas, infested with worms, likely never having experienced a proper bath, and simply craving love and attention. Now, Casey is on her way to a brighter future in foster care. Casey has completed all of her veterinary care: she is spayed, fully vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick free, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm prevention. Casey is a sweet, affectionate little girl who’s eager to bond with her forever family. She adores attention and wants to please her people but will need a patient adopter who understands she needs time to adjust and learn how to be a cherished pet. She is not house trained yet and can climb out of small fences, so a very secure outdoor space is required. Casey does well with other dogs, though she may get a little possessive of treats and toys with them. She cannot go to a home with cats. Her adoption requirements include a securely fenced yard (no invisible or wireless fences accepted), a home visit, a vet reference, and all current pets in your home must be spayed/neutered and current on heartworm prevention. Casey is currently fostered in Chickasha, OK, and her adoption fee is $250. If you're ready to give this beautiful little girl the patient, loving home she deserves, take the next step and apply to adopt. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Questions about Casey
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Miniature dachshund/chihuahua mixes are well-suited for homes that can provide plenty of human companionship and a safe, secure environment. They generally do well in both apartments and houses, as long as their needs for attention and exercise are met.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
This mix thrives with some outdoor space for play and exploration, but because of their small size, they do not require a large yard. Secure fencing is important since some can be escape artists.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Miniature dachshund/chihuahua mixes can be good with respectful children who know how to interact gently with small dogs. Supervision is recommended, especially with very young children.
