About Candy

They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Candy is a delightful 1-year-old miniature dachshund and chihuahua mix who is searching for a family to call her own. Saved from a tough past, she was rescued from a group of dogs left behind after a difficult situation in Eastern Oklahoma. Now in the care of a devoted foster, Candy is learning what it means to be loved and safe. This little girl has been spayed, vaccinated, de-wormed, treated for fleas and ticks, tested negative for heartworm, given a Proheart6 injection, and microchipped. She has a beautiful red and white medium-length coat and weighs around 10 pounds. While Candy is not yet house trained, she is eager to please, loves attention, and will blossom with patient guidance. She can be a bit skittish meeting new people and tends to have submissive tinkles, but her sweet nature shines through with time. Candy enjoys being around other dogs, though she needs a slow, gentle introduction to adjust comfortably. She is not suited for homes with cats. If you want to provide a loving, patient home for this special girl, and can meet these requirements—a securely fenced yard, a successful home visit, and strong vet references (with all current pets altered and on heartworm prevention)—she may be the perfect match for you. Candy is currently fostered in Chickasha, OK and her adoption fee is $250. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
