About Heidi In Fl

This precious "Pocket Pyr" may be small in stature at just 65 lbs, but Heidi has a heart full of love to give! This sweet girl is the definition of low-maintenance and easygoing—she's a calm, quiet companion who moves through life at her own peaceful pace, loves to stop and take in the world during leisurely walks, and is beautifully behaved on leash. Completely housebroken and preferring the comfort of being inside, this dear deaf girl communicates beautifully despite her hearing loss and is incredibly gentle (her foster mom can even hear her contentedly groaning in her sleep!). She loves attention and meeting new people with polite, no-jumping affection, and she's a dream for grooming, happily accepting baths, brushing, nail trims, and even a blow-dry like the lady she is. Because she can't hear, Heidi doesn't bark at typical household noises—even Florida rocket launches don't faze her!—making her wonderfully quiet and peaceful. This devoted girl would thrive as a solo dog in a calm household with people who want a low-key companion, as she prefers her personal space away from other dogs. If you're looking for an affectionate girl who just wants to be near you, soak up your love, maybe snooze under the coffee table (bonus points if you offer her favorite treat: American cheese!), Heidi could be your PYR-fect match—ready to fill your home with quiet companionship and endless sweetness! NYS Registered Rescue # RR102 NGPR dogs are in foster homes at the location specified on their full listing. View the full listing (with location, fee and application link) at HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTABLE-DOGS Completion of an application is required to be considered for any dog. Please fill out the application on our website and we will contact you. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
