Meet Salsa! Don't let his size fool you — what Salsa lacks in stature, he more than makes up for in personality! As the tiniest pup in his litter, this little spotted charmer has claimed the title of class clown fair and square. With his adorable bald patch on top of his head and a coat full of spots, Salsa is one-of-a-kind and absolutely impossible to forget! He came into rescue needing a little extra TLC, but with proper care his coat is starting to fill in. This handsome boy came to NGPR with his mom and 4 littermates (Honey, Potato, Onion, and Salsa), from a shelter in Kentucky. They are Pyr and Border Collie mixes born on February 18, 2026. Salsa is hands-down the most playful of his siblings, and his favorite way to show it is with a rousing game of Tug of War — just be warned, he plays to WIN! He aims to make you laugh with his silly antics, and this little comedian always keeps the entertainment coming. When he's not busy being hilarious, Salsa loves nothing more than heading outside to explore every corner of the yard, nose to the ground, taking everything in. One very important note for his forever family: DO NOT BE LATE WITH DINNER. This proud little foodie takes his mealtimes VERY seriously! His ideal home will have a 5-foot securely fenced yard for him to play in, as well as a canine sibling to show him the ropes. If you're looking for a pup who will fill your home with laughter, love, and endless fun, Salsa is your guy! HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
