About Silent Bob

SILENT BOB is a 10 year old domestic short hair cat taken in as a sick, lost cat on 8/23/25. At intake, he definitely felt puny and was treated for a respiratory infection. For whatever reason, Silent Bob didn't appear to be grooming himself, thus he had matted fur on his back, which we cut or brushed out, and his white fur was dirty. One of our staff members had the idea to slip a moist towel in his kennel in the mornings and he began rolling on it, getting himself cleaned up. Bob looks and feels so much better! Silent Bob is one special and amazing cat! He's friendly, loving and playful. Silent Bob is also FIV+, blind in one eye and virtually blind in his other eye. None of this changes the fact that Silent Bob loves to play, is a cuddler, likes being held, adores being talked to, loves belly rubs and can be quite demanding. After engaging with him, when you get ready to close up his kennel, he will reach out and grab you - he hasn't had enough of your attention! Silent Bob has a huge heart and is seeking the same. His adoption fee is $40 and helps cover the cost of his neuter, vaccinations, worming, monthly flea and heart worm preventive, FIV/FeLV tests, microchip and care while at CCHS. He MUST be an indoor ONLY cat. You've absolutely got to meet Silent Bob - you won't regret it! Caring for a blind cat isn't much different than caring for sighted cats. It's best for then to begin their life in a new home confined to one room, expanding their access to the rest of your home gradually. It's important to keep their litter box and food/water bowls in the same place. If you move things around, show them by placing them in the litter box at its new location or at the bowls. For playtime, make sure they have toys that make noise. We used teasers with bells on them with Silent Bob and you can see in his photos that he was good at catching it! Rattle mice, crinkle and jingle balls, any toy that he or you can jiggle and it makes sound is great! Before petting him, you can teach him to know where your hand is by rubbing your thumb on your fingertips. If you couldn't see that Silent Bob is vision impaired or FIV+, you wouldn't know it.
