About Chester
CHESTER is a 4 year old domestic short hair taken in as a lost, injured cat on 10/24/25. He had a large abscess on his neck just below his right ear and had to wear a cone for almost a month while it healed. Loving Chester is the easiest thing you can do. Getting good photographs of him is the hardest thing to do! Without even trying, he's a comic. Chester's poses, like propping his elbow on his bowl, or his other musings, like stretching out completely while pushing his blanket out from under him are impossible to record. As soon as one tries to snap a picture of his antics, he immediately shifts his posture or gets up. Chester basks in your attention. He's a love bug who adores being petted, especially under his chin or on his thick neck. If he thinks his gate is going to open, Chester's up in a flash hoping you'll pet or hold him. His favorite thing is to lay in your lap while you pet him - it was the only time Chester stayed in one place and also the reason for the picture of the back of his head. Chester's playful, curious and fearless, but his ultimate goal is to be loved. He's a big boy - 15/2 lbs. Chester's adoption fee is $70 and helps cover the cost of his neuter, vaccinations, worming, monthly flea and heart worm preventive, FIV/FeLV tests, microchip and care while at CCHS. He is FeLV+, which means he has feline leukemia virus. FeLV means that he has a suppressed immune system - it is NOT cancer, but a virus. There is no cure for FeLV, but cats can live a good life with the virus, especially with a good diet and regular vet visits. FeLV is only transmissible between cats via saliva(humans and dogs do not get it). Chester will need to be an indoor only cat living with other FeLV+ cats.
