About Dawn
Dawn arrived at rescue after being pulled from a tough situation in a rural shelter, where she'd been living in overcrowded conditions. She’s a small, long-haired mix of Yorkshire Terrier and Dachshund, with a lovely brown and black coat. When she arrived, Dawn was dealing with rear-leg paralysis and some wounds, likely from being confined in a crate. Right now, she’s getting regular physical therapy and plenty of fresh air with her foster, who’s helping her adjust to a new world full of open space. Dawn is shy at first, but she’s shown she can adapt quickly, even in a foster home with kids, dogs, and cats. Her care team will be learning more as she settles, and she’ll continue to receive veterinary care. She isn’t house trained at this time, and her special needs mean she’d benefit from a patient adopter who's ready for ongoing support. Local adopters are preferred, and a vet reference is required if you have younger pets or health issues in the home. Dawn is spayed and her vaccines are all up to date, giving her a fresh start.
