Sweet Dawn came to rescue after a rural county shelter got her from a hoarding situation. Dawn came to us with some open wounds, possibly from being confined in a crate or dragging herself along the ground. She is currently rear-leg paralyzed and will undergo a thorough vet visit as we try to figure out why. Meanwhile, her foster mom is doing some physical therapy with her and getting her outside to play in the fresh air and soft grass as much as possible. Dawn is understandably a bit shy, but we are confident she will adjust quickly to her new active foster family, complete with children, dogs and cats. Est. WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $365 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive.
