Charlie Whittle came to us as an owner surrender. He is 1 yr old, long-legged, deer-head chihuahua. His owners said he is great with kids, other dogs and is cat friendly, but is still figuring out how to interact with them. Charlie is high energy and loves to play fetch, indoors or out. He also loves snuggling on your lap, nuzzling your chin, and just being a lovebug and the goodest boy. He will need a secure fence, as he has proven to be an escape artist, and his owners learned to keep him on lead when in their back yard. After his escapes, he always finds his way home. His owners say he is house-trained but likes to mark over other dogs, so is good about wearing belly bands in the house. He is currently 8-9 lbs. WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. ADOPTION FEE of $ covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible. We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee the animal will be at the event without an approved application.
