Speaking of spicy... Chester came to rescue with an independent spirit and a chip on his shoulder. We don't know of his background, but he had landed in an overcrowded local shelter, which didn't help his mood. On the upside, Chester is a handsome, treat-motivated, energetic, and playful guy who would be a great companion for a runner, walker or an outdoorsy-type human! His foster mom says he does great on leash and he's doing well with potty training. We think he's about 4 yrs old. Right now, he's declared himself a loner and does not like dogs, cats or people other than his foster mom. This attitude adjustment will take some time and will need a special adopter up for a challenge. Obviously, he will need a home without children. Chester is a work in progress. Check back here or on FB for updates! WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. ADOPTION FEE of $ covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible. We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee the animal will be at the event without an approved application.
