About Rico
Rico is a handsome, 80 lb neutered male German Shepherd right on the verge of a fresh start. At almost 6 years old—and true to his Libra roots—Rico has seen enough hardship for a lifetime and is eager to trade those struggles for genuine connection and a loving home. After years of neglect, he's overcoming chronic skin issues thanks to dedicated foster care, better nutrition, and supplements. This guy craves relationships; you’ll spot a glimmer of hope in his eyes, waiting for someone patient to guide him the rest of the way. Rico is house trained, reliably using a crate, and learning commands like sit and heel. He isn’t aggressive toward people or other dogs, though his interactions can be a bit clumsy until he gets his bearings. Walks sometimes involve pulling, but some leash work will help. His prey drive shows up most with toys and the occasional passing car—a reminder that he’s still figuring out a world that never gave him much before. Once surrendered by a senior owner and lacking basic comfort, he’s now growing in a supportive foster environment and making steady progress each day. Rico is available for adoption in the greater Seattle area and deserves a home ready to show him real care and patience. Click apply to start the adoption process.
