About Joe Jackson

Joe Jackson is an 80-lb Great Dane/German Shepherd mix approaching his seventh birthday this April. After being surrendered for euthanasia due to allergies last fall, Joe returned to the rescue and has flourished with proper food, supplements, and medical care—his allergies are now well-managed, and he’s thriving. He’s remarkably mellow and affectionate, happiest when he’s lounging near his people or snuggled close during movie night. Joe’s calm, easygoing presence fits right into a relaxed home environment, especially with someone looking for a true couch companion. He tends to bond closely with his favorite person, warming up to both women and men once he feels settled and safe. He gets along well with resident dogs and enjoys peaceful yard play, though slow introductions are important for him to keep everyone comfortable. Joe is house trained and crate trained, knows heel, sit, and down, and is very food motivated—making training rewarding. He enjoys daily walks but can get nervous meeting other dogs on busy routes, so a suburban or rural environment suits him best. Unfortunately, Joe does not get along with cats. He does well with teens and brings a big, loyal heart to anyone willing to give him a laid-back, loving home. At bedtime, he’ll politely wait for his invitation onto the bed, and then he’ll take up as much space as he can get! What are you waiting for? Apply today!
