About Venus

Venus is an 11-week-old female German Shepherd/Malinois mix who came to safety after being found as a stray with her mom and siblings. She narrowly escaped euthanasia at a busy shelter when a foster home in the Seattle area stepped up for the entire family. Venus is a happy, playful pup with a real affinity for people and a strong desire to stay close by. She’s been making solid progress with potty training and has adjusted well to crate sleeping—only waking up occasionally in the night when she needs to go out. Venus trains quickly, shows impressive responsiveness, and looks to her person for guidance in new situations. Her working dog background comes through in her energy and toy drive, but she also settles down nicely with short timeouts. She loves to play, knows how to respect boundaries, and does well with dogs and children. For Venus, a home with a securely fenced yard and people familiar with shepherd or working dog breeds is important; apartment life isn’t a fit. The rescue will share more updates as Venus and her family get settled in their foster home. Your new best friend is just one click away.
