About Athena

Meet Athena, a lovable Great Dane/Mastiff mix, affectionately known as a Daniff, who currently resides in Bullard, TX. At nearly three years old, this playful girl enjoys simple pleasures, from carrying her favorite toys around to splashing in water or taking leisurely car rides. Her affectionate nature shines through as she thrives on companionship and eagerly participates in family activities. While Athena has a gentle heart, she requires a special home that understands her unique needs, particularly regarding her reactivity toward unfamiliar dogs. Her current family, who rescued her earlier this year, has worked diligently with trainers to manage her behavior, but they’ve decided she deserves a more suitable environment. Athena has successfully coexisted with familiar dogs and loves spending time with cats, showing no prey drive. Her ideal home would be one without other dogs to help her feel secure, although she can potentially share space with another dog, given the right circumstances and an experienced adopter who can navigate her sensitivities. Athena is house trained, crate trained, and content with low to moderate activity. She does well around children, though supervision during interactions is essential. By understanding and respecting Athena’s boundaries, you can give her the loving home she truly deserves. If you're ready to provide a supportive, structured environment for Athena, this affectionate companion will surely bring joy to your life. Your next adventure awaits—apply today!
