About Abby
Meet Abby, the ultimate Velcro dog and oversized shadow at your side. She's deeply affectionate and happiest tucked in next to you, often giving full-body hugs and forgetting just how big she is. Abby thrives on companionship; if you’re home, she wants to be near. She’s mostly a couch potato, happy to lounge much of the day, but shows off playful zoomies in the morning or during short periods of excitement. For exercise, a backyard covers her needs—long walks aren’t her thing. Abby works best as the only dog or with a calm, submissive larger companion. She’s lived with another female dog but likes her own space and may take over as the boss. She isn’t suitable for homes with cats. Abby does fine with children, especially those who are gentle and quiet; very active or loud households can make her uneasy, so older kids or calm homes are a better fit. She’s fully housetrained, travels well by car, respects baby gates, and hasn’t needed a crate. While she isn’t leash trained, she’s content having the yard as her domain. Abby faces some ongoing medical needs: she requires lifelong twice-daily eye drops for chronic dry eye, a manageable routine with a family committed to her care. She also sometimes struggles to gain weight. Abby is searching for a calm, loving home with a soft couch and someone who wants a loyal, constant companion. If you’re ready to welcome an affectionate shadow, she’s waiting to meet you. Let’s make it official, apply to adopt!

How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Great Danes like Abby appreciate a good backyard or fenced area to move around, but they don’t require vast outdoor spaces. Abby herself is content with moderate backyard time rather than long walks or high activity.
