Toby is a delightful 10-pound, 10-year-old Maltese Shih Tzu mix looking for a loving home. He has a sweet and affectionate personality and thrives on cuddles, preferably curled up on a soft blanket in a warm lap. While he initially showed little interest in toys, he's gradually becoming more playful, especially with the small resident dog in his foster home. Outdoor adventures are a highlight for him; he loves to meander around in a fenced yard, always trying to catch a glimpse of any squirrels. Toby is house trained, although he's still learning how to signal when he needs to go outside. He does well with regular access to outdoor time and is great on-leash during walks, eagerly sniffing his surroundings. To accommodate his mild collapsing trachea, he requires a harness for leash walks to minimize any stress on his neck. This gentle boy would do best in a calm environment where he receives plenty of love and attention. Ideally, he should have a human at home most of the day to ease any anxiety he may feel when left alone. While adults only would be a safe choice, families with older children who respect small dogs will be considered. Toby enjoys sleeping by his humans at night and would love to share a bed. He would thrive in a home with another small dog but can also adapt as a solo pet. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and requires heartworm and flea/tick preventative.
