About River ALMN
Meet River, a delightful ShiWeenie, which is a blend of Shih Tzu and Dachshund. At just 16 months old and about 14 pounds, he’s still very much a playful pup. River comes from a challenging background of overbreeding, where he was one of several pups. Thankfully, Almost Home Foster & Rescue of MN took the initiative to help him and his siblings find loving homes. River is a bit timid and tends to shy away from new people, but with patience and love, he’s learning to trust again. Though he’s comfortable around older children, he hasn’t been around toddlers or babies. This little guy prefers a quieter environment where he can feel safe, often finding solace in cozy corners. He seeks a patient family ready to offer him routine, companionship, and plenty of hugs. Ideally, he would thrive in a home where at least one pet parent is present consistently, and having a fur-sibling could be a bonus for him. River is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped, making him ready for his forever home. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
