About Marten
Marten is a young male Alaskan Husky looking for a new home. At just 1 year old and weighing in at 56 lbs, he was surrendered to the shelter because he doesn’t quite fit the sled dog lifestyle—he dislikes pulling in harness. Instead, Marten dreams of a cozy life as a house pet. While he is kennel trained, he needs guidance with house training and could benefit from learning better manners. He’s had some experience living outside but enjoys being indoors too. Marten has a playful nature and, while affectionate, he can be a bit rough during play. He’s good with children and loves making new friends, although he might take his time warming up to male dogs. Keep in mind, due to his high prey drive, it's best that he’s in a home without cats or small animals. If you're interested in meeting this sweet boy, we’d love to hear from you!
