About One
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! One is a 5-year-old Alaskan Husky and Pointer mix who, along with their fellow working dogs, was surrendered to the shelter due to their previous owner's medical issues. These enthusiastic and driven pups have experience as wonderful sled dogs and are known for their strength and eagerness to pull. They have always lived outdoors on a dog house but did enjoy coming inside during extremely cold weather. While they aren't housebroken, they thoroughly enjoy both mental and physical challenges, thriving as adventure companions—whether that's hiking, mushing, skijoring, or bikejoring. Transitioning this crew to full-time indoor life will take some patience, as they'll need help with potty training, kennel training, and basic obedience. They know mushing commands but are eager and smart, ready to learn anything with consistent guidance. One and their friends generally get along well with other dogs and would do especially well in homes that appreciate active, outdoor lifestyles and a bit of fun-loving canine mischief. If you're interested in welcoming One or even the whole crew into your home (or rec team), let the shelter know! Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
