About Pike
Pike is a 2-year-old Husky/Pointer mix ready for a home that can match his drive. He entered the shelter along with his pack when their owner’s health issues made it impossible to provide them the working dog lifestyle they’re used to. Pike has experience as a sled dog and knows mushing commands well, but he’ll need to learn all the basics of indoor life: house training, kennel routines, and standard cues. He’s lived mostly outdoors, but enjoys coming inside during harsh weather. Pike gets along well with other dogs and is happiest when he has a job or an active routine. He’s looking for someone patient and energetic—maybe someone with dreams of mushing, skijoring, or simply ready for a hiking buddy who thrives on activity and mental stimulation. Pike needs structure and time to settle into home life, but in the right hands, he’ll make an incredible adventure companion. Let Pike show you what a true working dog can bring to your life.
