This sweet 3-4-year-old loves being close to people, soaking up affection, and, most importantly, enjoying all the belly rubs you can offer. River has been in foster care for about a month, and his joyful personality continues to shine. He’s a professional cuddler and already sits and shakes on command, while learning to stay. His preference for belly rubs often outweighs his interest in toys, although he’s beginning to explore tossing stuffies in the air! At night, River sleeps quietly in his foster family's room and does great with crating. He’s gentle with his canine sister and has shown no food aggression. River has greeted new people and dogs without a hitch, and when it comes to cats, he’s mostly uninterested — but deer definitely capture his attention! His ideal home would allow him to be the loving companion he longs to be. Whether you're a retired individual or couple, or a family with older children, River would thrive in an environment where someone is around frequently. Though he currently has no fenced yard, he would appreciate a safe space for running and playing. An interesting note about River: he's developed a special bond with his foster dad and quickly becomes attached to those he loves. River is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and receiving flea and tick prevention.
