He has a lovely soft red-merle coat and is neutered, as well as up to date on vaccinations. Though he experiences mild separation anxiety, he's crate trained and loves his daily walks. He is not currently in need of any special care and is ready for adoption in Ontario, CA.

Meet Stevie! This mellow Australian Shepherd is around 4 and a half years old and is searching for a stable home filled with companionship. A true Velcro dog, he prefers to stay close without being clingy. Stevie enjoys his walks and has moderate energy. He's friendly during outings, greeting people and sometimes other dogs, but he remains non-reactive. He's generally quiet but will alert you if something seems off. With children, he is tolerant but will thrive in a home with respectful, dog-savvy kids aged 12 and up. He doesn't pay much attention to cats, primarily focusing on larger bugs and lizards instead. At about 50 pounds, Stevie has a tall and lean frame complemented by a soft red-merle coat, leaning more towards the Australian Shepherd side and could shed. His Poodle-like features are striking, especially that full tail that wags with joy! Stevie is intelligent, knows basic commands, excels at puzzle toys, and quickly adapts to routines—he has even learned how to open doors. He takes treats gently and enjoys his walks, making him an easy-going companion. Stevie is crate trained, happily sleeping from 9:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. However, he experiences some separation anxiety, so a family not away for long stretches would be ideal. Puzzle toys help, and he is currently on Fluoxetine, with hopes to wean him off as he stabilizes. A home that offers structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement will be a perfect fit for Stevie. He would thrive as a companion for a couple in retirement or someone looking for a loyal friend to share daily life with. While he doesn't need a large yard, his daily walks are essential.
