Sherman spent the first few months of his life fighting for food and space with 80+ other dogs in one house. Now he has a fresh start, and he’s quickly discovering just how good life can be. When Sherman first arrived in his foster home, he was terrified and unsure of both people and other dogs. But it only took a few days to earn his trust, and in just two short weeks, he’s become quite the loving little guy. He’s curious about everything and ready to explore this big new world. Sherman is full of puppy energy and LOVES to play—he barely stops wrestling with his foster sisters long enough to eat and sleep! He’s still learning to walk on a leash, so a fenced yard would be great for him. He would also do best with another dog in the home to help him burn off some energy and continue building his confidence. Once he finally wears himself out, Sherman turns into the sweetest little lap dog, happily snuggling up with his favorite humans. He already knows sit and will run to the door when told it’s time to go potty. He truly wants to please, which should make continuing his training that much easier. Everything is still new, so Sherman will need a little patience and understanding—but considering everything he’s been through, the amount of love this little guy has to give is pretty incredible. It’s only going to get better from here. Male• 8 months old• Terrier Mix• 14 lbs ADOPTING A DOG Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older). If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match. We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend.
