Tulip is a loving Miniature Schnauzer rescued from a breeder, where she was sadly neglected. When she arrived at the rescue, her coat was so matted that distinguishing her features proved difficult. After a much-needed grooming, Tulip emerged with stunning deep black fur, weighing about 11 pounds. She's around 4 years old and might just need the right companion to help her shine. Although she's timid, Tulip enjoys being held by her foster mom and shows affection towards other dogs, happily playing with them in a secure outdoor space. She does have some quirks; for example, Tulip can be a bit barky and is not yet leash-trained, so a quiet home is ideal for her. She's currently learning to overcome her fears and would greatly benefit from an existing dog companion and patient adopters, especially retirees or those who work from home. Previous experience with puppy mill survivors would help a lot. Tulip is already spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. She has been vet-checked, heartworm tested negative, microchipped, and had a dental procedure where she lost most of her teeth due to prior neglect.
