About Cody
Meet Cody, also fondly known as Cody Bear. If you’ve ever dreamed of having a sweet, playful, and fluffy companion resembling a black lab but with a little extra size, Cody is your guy! Weighing in at 66 pounds and standing about 2.25 feet at the shoulder, he’s likely a lab mix with a touch of German shepherd. This charming pup embodies the best traits of both breeds. He brings the playful, goofy energy of a lab alongside the protective instincts of a shepherd, barking at strangers who approach your door. Cody is medium-high energy and loves to go for walks, play fetch, and then relax at home. He knows how to unwind peacefully, preferring to lay on the floor rather than furniture. With his smart nature, Cody is food-motivated, which makes him a quick learner. He is house-trained and lets you know when he needs to go outside by sitting by the door. Notably, he’s also crate-trained, calmly settling in his crate after a brief whine. While he does well with cats, Cody requires gradual introductions to other dogs. He’s not suitable for homes with very small children, but he is likely to thrive with older kids. Getting to know new friends, both human and canine, is part of Cody’s charm. He’s a gentle giant who brings joy and playfulness to every moment. Ready to bring this affectionate buddy into your life? Click apply to start the adoption process.
