About Zoey
Zoey is a truly charming combination of hound and labrador retriever mix who arrived from a rural Kentucky shelter looking for her second chance. She’s known for her gentle manners and sunny disposition—this dog won’t just coexist, she’ll belong. Envision lazy afternoons outside, Zoey flopped on her side for belly rubs, soaking it all in. She’s not just sweet, she’s sharp too: Zoey already knows her Sit, Down, and No, and her foster family has been impressed by how quick she is to pick up new routines. Zoey is notably sociable, thriving around people and meshing well with other dogs. She’s easygoing with introductions, happy to make new canine friends. When adventure calls, she’s up for it—riding along in the car or setting off on a neighborhood walk, even if leash work still needs a bit of fine-tuning. At three to four years old, Zoey’s energy lands in that reliably playful, adult sweet spot. Her short apricot coat shines in the sun, and at about 48 lbs she’s a comfortable medium size. Zoey has been spayed, is fully vaccinated, and tested negative for heartworm. She is house trained, making her an easy fit for home life. (Zoey does not get along with cats but is good with dogs and children.) She’s in Cincinnati, OH, with Three Sisters Pet Rescue/Ohio Hound Rescue. Give this loyal, all-weather friend a chance and see what real companionship feels like. This could be the start of something paw-some.
