Weighing around 17.4 pounds, this petite girl is searching for a compassionate family eager to show her that she is cherished for much more than her past. Belle spent years as a hunting dog, leading to minimal human interaction and limited exposure to what it means to be a beloved companion. Now, in a foster home in Kent, WA, Belle is starting a fresh chapter, alongside her best friend Blue. These two share a deep bond formed through their experiences, and they thrive on each other's company, playing and navigating life together. They must be adopted as a pair to maintain that supportive connection. Although Belle can be shy and uncertain in new situations, she is learning to trust people with each day that passes. She may be unfamiliar with common experiences such as walking on a leash or receiving affection, but foster care is giving her much-needed opportunities to grow and build confidence. Belle is currently under treatment for Lyme disease and Ehrlichia, both of which are common and manageable with proper veterinary attention. Before traveling to her new home, she will be microchipped, vaccinated, and started on prevention for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. A secure fenced yard will be necessary for Belle and Blue. Ideally, they would thrive in a calm home environment. If possible, a confident resident dog could be an excellent role model for them, aiding in their adjustment to a loving family life. A home with older children, ideally age 12 and up, would likely suit them best. Belle's journey is just beginning, and there's still much to discover about her personality. She is a resilient spirit who deserves endless patience and kindness.
