Meet Sage! This sweet 4-year-old, 28.4 lb girl is looking for a forever home alongside her best friend, Miley. These two have a strong bond and must be adopted together to continue sharing life's adventures side by side. Sage and Miley were surrendered by their owner after making a habit of escaping their yard and helping themselves to the neighbors' chickens. This adventurous spirit shows they need a securely fenced yard in their new home. They will soon be moving to a foster home, where we hope to learn more about their roaming tendencies and if it was due to their environment, lack of supervision, or simply a love for exploration. According to their previous owner, Sage and Miley are friendly with people and have successfully lived with both cats and children. They do well with larger dogs, and while proper introductions are vital, Sage's history indicates she could blend well into many family situations. However, due to her past with chickens, she should not be placed with poultry or small critters. Sage is already spayed and has tested negative for heartworm. Before finding her new home, she will receive updated vaccinations, a fecal test, be microchipped, and started on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. We are excited to learn more about Sage's personality while she is in foster care and will keep updating her profile as we gather information.
