About Cooper
Meet Cooper! This little Miniature Dachshund has come a long way and is searching for a special home that understands trust takes time. Cooper arrived with little experience of the world—most things were new to him, and he’s just starting to learn how safe and gentle people can be. Once comfortable, Cooper is playful, goofy, and shows a true sweetness. He loves to zoom around a secure yard and enjoys those classic quirky Dachshund moments you’d expect from the breed. Cooper needs a patient, calm adopter: someone who understands this isn’t an instant bond, but one that develops gradually. A first-time dog owner won’t be the right fit; Cooper benefits most from someone who can provide consistency and let him move at his own pace. Loyal and bright, but independent, he’ll reward patience with deep affection and humor. He and his buddy Charlie are closely bonded and really thrive together, though Cooper could also do well placed with another confident, friendly dog willing to help him adjust. The rescue will waive the adoption fee on one if both are adopted together. Cooper does well with other dogs, but a home with children isn’t right for him. All dogs through this rescue receive comprehensive vetting, including neuter, vaccines, microchipping, and a six-week group obedience class. Foster-to-adopt is possible while any final vetting is completed. Ready for a companion who needs time to trust but will reward you with real connection? Cooper is waiting for that patient person—and for his chance at a wonderful life. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
