About Bruno
Bruno is a 4-year-old pit bull mix with big energy and a streak of independence. He’s been at the shelter before, so staff and volunteers know him well—he’s curious, alert, and happiest outdoors, taking in every sight and smell. Inside, he calms down, but he still likes to do things his own way, sometimes jumping up if he gets excited or wants treats. Bruno isn’t afraid to let you know what he wants, from barking to get your attention to moving away if he’d rather play alone, but he responds well to clear boundaries and consistency. He’s lived with cats, and with the right introductions could settle into a home with a dog of the opposite sex. Bruno’s style with new dogs can be headstrong, pressing in directly, which means his canine friends need to match his energy and be introduced slowly. He does best with older kids (around 10 or up), especially if they understand how to respect his space. Outdoors, he’ll need someone comfortable managing a strong dog on leash—there’s still a lot of pulling when he’s excited about other dogs or if there’s action nearby.
