About Remington

Remington is a 10-and-a-half-year-old Bluetick Coonhound mix with a steady, inquisitive spirit. He’s an older gent who loves exploring his environment but doesn’t let age slow his curiosity. Remington enjoys approaching people for affection and settles quickly around new faces. He investigates new things without much fuss, isn’t rattled by random noises, and takes everything in stride. While he hasn’t shown much interest in toys, he’s eager to check them out. He can be a little forward meeting strangers at first, but with a confident handler he calms down and relaxes. With other dogs, Remington can be selective—he tends to keep an eye on them and prefers brief interactions, stepping away when he needs his own space before circling back. He has lived with cats before, though the shelter doesn’t formally test dogs with cats. For kids, he might do well in homes with children around eight and up, but it’s case by case. He is not yet reliably house trained and will need patience as he adjusts to a home setting. If you’re looking for a calm companion with a curious streak, Remington could be a great fit. Did you know he’s a Sagittarius? Sagittariuses tend to be adventurous souls—Remington certainly fits the bill. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
