About Bernard

Bernard is a sweet senior guy that comes along with bonus THUMBS (that's right, our man is a polydactyl)! He came to us from a complicated 17 cat neglect situation, but is well socialized.. however, he is particular about where he's pet, and will give you a gentle slap if you're "doing it wrong." Because of this, we think a house without kids will be best. Bernard has lived with, you know, a whole lot of other cats, but would thrive as a solo boy because he enjoys being the center of attention. He's not a lap cat, but he will follow you around purring the whole time, and lay on a blanket next to you. Oh, that adorable flopped ear that he has going on? He had a rough bout with previous ear infections, and this has left him with this extra cute "flaw." But please note, there is a chance that a recurring ear infection could happen again in his life. __ Every PALS cat and kitten has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV and is up-to-date on vaccinations. A note about kittens: if you are adopting a kitten, they may need to complete their FVRCP (distemper) series and may not be old enough for their rabies vaccination. These essential vaccines will be the responsibility of their new owner. Detailed vet records and a calendar of vaccination due dates will be provided. The PALS Adoption Center, located inside PetSmart at 10 Traders Way in Salem, MA (just off Highland Ave/Rte 107) BY APPOINTMENT ONLY TO APPROVED ADOPTERS. Adoption applications can be found online at www.palscats.org. A completed application is not necessarily an approved application. We do ask for written landlord approval if you rent, or proof of home ownership (water bill, etc.) We will also check your vet references. You will be contacted by our adoption staff once your application has been approved. Please note it can take up to 48 hours. Our online sites are updated regularly, but we can not guarantee that a cat you see here is still available. Please email if you have any questions regarding the adoption process or our available cats and kittens. PALS is an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue group. Each and every cat and kitten has been rescued locally.
