Honey is an approximately 3-year-old guessed poodle mixed breed dog looking for a patient, understanding forever home. Honey was found standing in the middle of a busy city intersection with no owner to be found. Since entering foster care, she has been adjusting to life indoors and learning consistency and routine. Honey is very sweet and affectionate once comfortable. She loves to snuggle, sleeps through the night, and enjoys being close to her people. She currently lives with young children and does well with them, though she may ultimately feel most comfortable in a calmer, quieter home. She gets along well with other dogs overall but can become anxious around loud or overly energetic dogs. Honey has also been around cats and does okay with them, though she tends to be more intimidated by them than interested. Honey arrived with heavily matted fur and was very thin. She has since received a haircut and is continuing to settle into foster care nicely. Potential adopters should know: Honey does not do well in a crate and is not considered a good fit for apartment living due to barking and anxiety. She can squeeze through fences, so secure containment and supervision are very important. She is making progress with potty training but has had a few accidents indoors during her adjustment period. Honey may bark and rush toward the door when people enter the home. While this can seem intimidating at first, she is not aggressive.
