About Livia Alastair

Make their next chapter their best one yet. Livia Alastair is a gentle 3-year-old retriever/hound mix, currently weighing around 15 lbs, with a unique look due to being blind in one eye. Her special nature stems from her shyness, a result of her background in a hoarding situation where she missed out on critical early socialization. Livia is incredibly sweet, submissive, and finds comfort and joy in the company of other dogs—she’ll thrive best with a confident canine companion to guide her in her new home. Her forever family should be patient and dedicated to nurturing her confidence over time, helping her experience life outside her comfort zone, rather than keeping her sheltered. For her wellbeing, a fenced-in yard is important, and a calm, adult-only household is highly recommended, as fast or loud activity may overwhelm her sensitive nature. Adopters will have access to ongoing behavior support and training resources that can help Livia blossom into a happier, more confident dog. She is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and enjoys a free six-week obedience class with her adoption through SGDR, along with lifetime behavior support. Livia is searching for experienced adopters eager to invest in her future happiness by taking gentle steps to build her confidence each day. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
