Toby is fostered in Peoria, IL This gorgeous red merle has a story to tell. He has come from a difficult situation and is now looking to live his best life. Toby is a 3 year old red merle male Australian Shepherd, that weighs approximately 60 lbs with a low drive and gentle nature, he is just a sweetheart. Toby is a quiet, shy type of guy. Given where he came from, he doesn't exactly know how to be a "normal" pampered dog. He is still learning what that feels like. Toby is house crate, crate trained and actually loves his crate. He is good with other dogs of all sizes, but has not been tested with cats. He does walk nicely on a leash and he is a perfect gentleman for grooming. Toby prefers a more quiet, relaxing environment, one without children under 12 years of age. He would also do best with a physically fenced yard for his random zoomies. He has a tendency to hoard his squeaky toys, so his adopter should have plenty on hand for him. Toby is very food motivated and loves being near his people. This handsome guy needs a patient adopter who will allow him time and patience to warm up to you and his new life. In return, he is happy to accept - and give - lots of kisses.
