About Bluey

Bluey is fostered in Madison, WI. Talk about a transformation.... this is one! Bluey was in a shelter and was so unsettled that she displayed some undesirable behaviors. Honestly, this is not uncommon for aussies in shelter environments. This beautiful girl entered into foster care and has not looked back. Bluey is a black tri female Australian Shepherd, about 5 years of age and weighs approximately 45-50 lbs. This sweet lady is looking for her forever home who will be patient as she adjusts and is ready to play fetch. She may take some time to settle into her new home, but after she has, she will want unlimited pets. She will become a great part of your family and want to be near your side just laying near you. Bluey has been playing non-stop with the other foster dog in the home. She does wonderful in the car. She is remarkable for grooming. She is a very eager to please girl, who is learning so much in foster care. Bluey is house trained and crate trained. She is not super enthusiastic about going into her crate but once in there doesn't cause a ruckus. She will sit and come on command and we are working on some new tricks. She works well with a ball as a reward, and is very treat motivated. She seems to do well around kids and just isn't that interested in them. She has not been tested around cats Bluey quickly learned her foster Dad's schedule and will sit patiently under his desk while he works from home. She is crate trained, house trained and has learned to walk nicely on leash. Bluey still has a little prey drive and can pull because those little tree rats are SO tempting. She has not been tested with cats, although we had been told she lived with them. Bluey likes to sit in patio chairs around the campfire, but don't worry she is great around the dinner table and does not beg. She likes to be around her people but gets warm easily so prefers the floor as her sleeping spot. She makes a loud groan at the end of a long day as she finds a place to rest. She does enjoy the outdoor critters but otherwise walks well on leash. She loves to play fetch and is THRILLED to retrieve the ball and bring it back for you to throw again, so we recommend an adopter with non-stop throwing experience. She does well with children of all ages, but we do recommend no toddlers due to her size and energy. A physically fenced yard is recommended as well. She is very food and toy motivated and can't get enough belly rubs. If you're looking for a beautiful adventurist, this is your girl.
