About Ollie

Ollie is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application. Ollie the Chihuahua may be small in size, but he’s full of personality and charm. This sweet, smart little guy is already showing off his good manners—he listens well, responds to “sit” and “come,” and will happily trot right into his pen when you point him in the right direction. He’s making great progress with house training and is comfortable in his crate, where he settles in nicely when left alone. Ollie also knows how to use his voice appropriately, barking only when it counts—like when someone’s at the door or a new person approach. Around 6 years old, As Ollie gets more comfortable, his playful and curious side really starts to shine. He enjoys being outside, occasionally chasing after a toy in a game of fetch, and is always interested in what’s going on around him. He’s cautiously playful with other small and similarly sized dogs, though bigger dogs are still a bit of a question mark. Ollie can be a little timid when meeting new people at first, but with a bit of patience, he warms up and shows his affectionate nature. He does well with handling and hasn’t shown any sensitivities, making him a great candidate for someone willing to help build his confidence. Ollie is a companion at heart—he loves being close to his person and will happily snuggle up whenever given the chance (even sneaking into bed if allowed!). He can be a bit needy and has a talent for begging, but that just adds to his endearing personality. He enjoys toys and may thrive in a home where he can fully explore that playful side. Ollie would do best with someone who can continue guiding him with gentle structure, especially on leash manners and confidence-building. With a little patience and a lot of love, Ollie is ready to become someone’s devoted little sidekick. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area.
