4/25/26 Foster or Foster to Adopt Home Needed! Meet Bo, one of our our newest local intakes who needs a place to kick up his feet up during the day and lay his head on at night. Do you have a little extra room on your couch for a sweet new addition? Luke is ~1 year old Chihuahua boy, 6# and the kissiest boy we know. He is super social, outgoing and seems to want to come along no matter what the plan. He is an energetic little man and jumps up to be picked up as soon as a person is near. He hasn't yet met a person that he doesn't like and would make a great traveling companion for someone looking for a dog to be on the go... he would need to be leashed, however, since he will approach all who acknowlege him. Luke is a very good boy and he is working on housebreaking and training. He longs for attention so getting praise as a reward or a treat or two has been working well. He also tolerates a male belly band well while brushing up on housebreaking. He had his initial vet visit, vaccines, 4dx tests and flea/ tick treatment. He has also been neutered now. Due to his small size, breed and temperament, foster or foster to adopt requirements are: -Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY for puppies or pets, that need continued vetting. Once they have been vetted, up to a 150 mile radius is acceptable. -Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered. -He came from a home with other dogs and cats, so he should be okay in homes with each. !Being able to bring him back to our vets office in Adams if additional care is needed prior to adoption. After adoption, we recommend taking each to your current vet to be established. -Homes with children over 12 years old should be ok due to his current size and temperament. -Willing to have current family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure they are an acceptable match. -Having time available to care for, socialize and start the training of a new pet. An adoption donation of $450 is being asked if you choose to adopt, but fostering is free! Please help us to continue helping those that knock on our doors! Once he has been fully vetted, up to a 150 mile radius is acceptable. All pets must be viewed in person by all family members prior to adoption; animals will not be shipped to their new homes. Dogs in the home must come to the meet and greet as well to be sure they will get along with the new pet. Veterinary reference check and adoption donation also required.
