About Jaxon
Jaxon is a ten-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who weighs just 8 lbs and is fostered in Indian Trail, North Carolina. He arrived at the rescue with advanced heart problems, and his heart has reached a point where fluid is backing up into his lungs. Jaxon recently experienced congestive heart failure and had to stay at the emergency vet in oxygen, taking medication to help flush the fluid. The medicine regimen has since been adjusted, and now things are stable as possible for him, though no one can say how much time he has left. Jaxon lives for treats, knows when it’s time for his medicine, and lets his foster mom know exactly when he wants it. He asks to go outside, but when no one is home, he has accidents, mostly because of his heart meds. He wants to be with his people at all times—curled up on a lap or snuggled in bed. Jaxon loves people and is social, barking to greet newcomers. He does well with other dogs but isn’t a match for homes with children. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Jaxon
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Jaxon, as a Yorkshire Terrier, typically adapts well to apartments or houses as long as he is close to his people. A calm home without young children would give him the security he needs.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Yorkshire Terriers like Jaxon do not need a large yard. A small fenced area or regular short walks outside are enough for his needs, especially given his current health.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Jaxon's breed is small and can be delicate, making adult-only or older child homes a better fit, especially since Jaxon himself does not get along with children.
